Where a bathroom has been patched rather than replaced, the problem is usually behind the tiles rather than on them. We take those rooms back to the frame and rebuild properly, starting with fresh waterproofing to current standards. From there we fit the custom vanity, shower niches and storage, then tile the room out to finish. You will get a clear scope of what is changing, and a realistic idea of how long the bathroom will be out of use, before anything comes out.

Salt air and humidity are the reason coastal bathrooms age faster than they should, and it is the hardware and the edges that fail first. We specify moisture-resistant board, sealed edging, and hinges and runners rated for the conditions, then plan the ventilation properly so the room actually dries between uses. Getting that right at the specification stage costs very little. Replacing swollen cabinetry five years in does not.

Standard vanity sizes rarely line up with the wall lengths and plumbing positions in an established Northern Beaches home, particularly in places that have been extended or reworked over the years. We measure on site and build to the room, so the cabinetry runs wall to wall without filler panels. Soft-close drawers, integrated mirror cabinets, stone benchtops and undermount basins are all built at our Berkeley Vale workshop.

Plenty of homes along the beaches have a main bathroom and an ensuite built to the same tired spec, and a good number are rented out over summer. We can stage the work so the household is never without a working bathroom, and we will schedule around peak season where a property is being let. Ensuites are usually tight on space, which makes the layout matter more than the finishes — a wall-hung vanity and a hobless shower will make a small room feel considerably larger.
