Plenty of Northern Beaches homes have a kitchen that was tacked onto the back of the house before anyone thought about how it should connect to the living area. We take those back to a blank wall and plan the layout properly, working out where the bench, sink and appliances belong before anything is ordered. From there we build the cabinetry, coordinate the benchtop template and handle the install, so you get one clear scope and one realistic timeframe rather than a moving target.

Salt air and humidity are the reason coastal kitchens fail early, and it is almost always the hardware and the edges that go first. We specify moisture-resistant board, sealed edging and hinges and runners rated to hold up near the water, then finish the cabinetry so it can be wiped down rather than babied. The extra cost at the specification stage is minor. Replacing a kitchen that has swollen at the joints five years in is not.

Standard cabinet sizing rarely matches the wall lengths and plumbing positions in an established Northern Beaches home, especially in places that have been extended once or twice. We measure on site and build to the room, with soft-close drawers, pull-out pantry units, integrated bins and internals planned around what actually goes in them. Stone, laminate and timber benchtops are all available, and we manage the template and install rather than leaving you to chase a separate supplier.

On the Northern Beaches the kitchen usually has to work with the deck as much as the living room. We plan the island, the servery and the traffic flow around that, so whoever is cooking is not cut off from everyone outside. Where the budget and footprint allow, a scullery takes the mess out of sight and keeps the main bench clear when the house is full, which on a coastal home is most of summer.
